Switching from Cleaner Planner to MyRound
Moving software shouldn't mean retyping a round you've spent years building. Here's exactly what moving your customers across looks like.
The steps
- Export your customers to a spreadsheet. Most round-management software, including Cleaner Planner, has an export or backup option that produces a CSV or Excel file. If you've been running your round from a spreadsheet directly, you already have this file.
- Open MyRound's import, in Settings. Import handles conflicts you'd expect from moving real data — if a customer already exists, you choose whether to merge the new data in or overwrite what's there, rather than silently creating duplicates.
- Addresses get geocoded automatically. As customers come in, MyRound looks up each address for the map — this is what makes route planning work from day one, without you having to place every pin by hand.
- Check the result. Import reports how many customers came across, so you can confirm the count matches your original spreadsheet before you rely on it for a live round.
What doesn't come across automatically
An import brings customer records — names, addresses, prices, frequencies where the spreadsheet has them. It won't recreate years of job history, invoices already sent, or a payment ledger from the old system — those generally aren't something any import can move cleanly, since the underlying data models rarely match between two different pieces of software. Most people moving software treat the switch date as a clean start for job history, while customer records and future scheduling carry over properly.
Why do this before your next billing cycle
The easiest time to switch is right after invoicing has gone out on the old system and before the next round of jobs starts — that way nothing's mid-cycle when the round moves, and the first jobs scheduled in MyRound are clean four-weekly or eight-weekly cycles from a known date, not half-finished ones inherited from the old system's calendar.
- Will I lose any customers in the move?
- Import reports exactly how many rows were processed, so you can check the count against your original file before treating the move as complete.
- What if the same customer ends up imported twice?
- You choose whether new data merges into an existing matching customer or overwrites it — that decision happens at import time, not silently.
- Do I need to redo all my pricing?
- No — pricing comes across from the spreadsheet along with the rest of the customer record, provided it's in the file you're importing.
